David Rees Obituary

1962 - 2006With heavy hearts the family of David Rees announce his passing at St. Joseph's Hospice on February 12th, 2006, at the age of 43, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loving family and friends. David was born in Port Arthur on May 17th, 1962. He married his loving wife Denise Devine November 10th, 1984. He was always available and willing to help anyone who needed help. Davey's greatest joy in his life was his family. His family meant the world to him. His little vacations, camping, fishing, and just spending quality time together. David's pride and joy was his two daughters, watching them grow up to be beautiful, caring women. He had a goal during his illness that he achieved in January which was to go to Toronto and see his favorite hockey team Toronto Maple leafs play. David was predeceased by his parents, Jack & Isabelle Rees and niece Tammy Gordon. He is survived by his loving wife Denise, two daughters Sarah (Ryan) and Ashley. Five sisters Brenda (Ainsley) Gordon, Elinore (Sonny) Howald, Karen (Eddie) Toderash, Debbie (Donnie) MacLeod, Shirley (Paul) Bluchier. Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Melvin and Patricia Devine, Sisters-in-law Dawn (Mike) Kelly, Melanie (Graham) Erickson. David is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. As per David's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of his life on February 16th 2006 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #5 (Van Norman St) from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.David will be forever missed and loved."
