Nazzareno Tozzo Obituary

Nazzareno 'Naz' Tozzo was born on January 3rd, 1957 to Salvatore and Giuseppina Tozzo in Serra San Bruno, Italy. He passed away peacefully in his hospital bed late November 10, 2013. In 1967, Nazzareno moved to Canada with his Mother and siblings. As he was growing up he didn't take much liking to school, instead he became one of the youngest, most talented cement finishers working for Corazza. Soon after, he met the love of his life Carrie, and together they began to start a family of their own. A year after the wedding, they had their first daughter Laura, promptly causing Naz to quit construction in hopes to be closer to his family. Within a year he came home one night to spontaneously tell his wife that he is going to open a restaurant called Bar Italia. This restaurant grew into one of his major accomplishments through his hard work and dedication, and is still succeeding today after 23 years. Three years after Laura, he was blessed by the birth of his only son Salvatore and then again by his daughter and baby girl Gina. Naz is survived by his beautiful wife Carrie of 25 years, daughters Laura and Gina and son Salvatore. He is also survived by his three older sisters Gina Tassone, Sara (Simone) Costanzo, Rita (Frank) Fabiano, and his younger brother Antonio Tozzo, brother-in-law Doctor Gerald (Jaqueline) Smith, father-in-law Jerry (Edna) Smith, soon to be daughter-in-law Courtney, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Naz was predeceased by his mother Giuseppina and father Salvatore, four brothers, one sister, mother-in-law Carmela Smith, grandmother-in-law Laura Smith and his good friend and brother-in-law Nazzareno Tassone. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 leaving the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, at 10:30 a.m. to St. Anthony's R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini. The entombment will follow in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum.
