The son of Hector and Clare Dougall was born June 20th, 1942 in Port Arthur, Ontario. Married Elizabeth Burton on June 1963 - they celebrated their 52nd anniversary in June. Survived by three children; Hector, Scott, Kirsten and daughter in-law Richelle, with five grandchildren; William, Fraser, Holden Dougall; Anna and Sam Lehtinen; his brother Chris and sister Brenda; and many more nieces and nephews. Fraser was always a devoted family man.
Fraser was a life-long learner. He attended schools in Thunder Bay, along with St. John's Raven's Court in Winnipeg and received a Bachelor of Art's Degree from the University of Manitoba. He pursued a broad range of educational opportunities in different Canadian Universities and through the Young Presidents organization around the world including Harvard University.
He was a broadcaster by profession and was the President and CEO of H.F. Dougall Company Ltd. and Thunder Bay Electronics Ltd. from 1963 to present. He was a member of the Canadian Broadcaster's quarter century club and was loved and respected by his employees. His company and his employees gave him great joy and satisfaction.
A lover of Thunder Bay and a strong supporter of local charities, he was the Chairman of the Board of Lakehead University Board of Governors, the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal, the Ontario Economic Council, a member of the Port Arthur Rotary Club, and a member of the Salvation Army Citizens board. Through his local media platform, he gave generously of his resources to all local charities

He also received the Queen's Golden Jubilee medal and was named a member of the Order of Ontario. He was a fellow of Lakehead University.
He was a man of many passions who enjoyed life greatly. He traveled extensively with his family and had a deep appreciation of history and culture. He was also a lover of Lake Superior and thought of places like Amethyst Harbour, Isle Royale and St. Ignace as his home. He valued his physical fitness and derived great pleasure from workouts and playing hockey. Gardening was also a great passion of his and those who knew him marvelled at the quality of his roses. Finally, his great passion extended to his home and friends at Vizcaya in Naples, FL.
The Dougall Family would like to extend a warm and sincere thank you for the excellent care and compassion shown to Fraser by Doctor Vergides and the entire medical staff at the TBRH Cancer Center and to the devoted team at the oncology unit. A deep thank-you also to the friends, family and staff who gave such great support over the years.
His grandchildren were a great delight to him, he will be sorely missed.
Friends who are looking to support a cause in Fraser's name can contribute to the Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Center or the United Way Thunder Bay Tomorrow Fund or a charity of their choice.

We were so saddened to learn that Fraser had died. That evening we sat and shared memories of some of the good times we had together, especially boating on THE lake. Fraser was a fine friend and we feel blessed to have known him. Condolences to you Eliz and the family. The world is a little less bright now.
Love and hugs

Liz and family, I read with great sadness your loss of Fraser. I will remember with fondness the last time I saw the both of you at the airport and he remarked how, "Our babysitter is all grown up!" I always enjoyed when I got to be the "babysitter" for your family. Fraser always took an interest in what I was doing in school and what my goals were and .questioned me about them on our short ride down Farrand St. I can understand why his employees were so fond of him. Rest in Peace!

Fraser's support of the Lung Association, Thunder Bay Region (closed about 10 years ago) was a yearly gift the organization used to fund their Asthma Clinics for Children and their Smoking Cessation Programs..this education backed by Dougall helped many children struggling to breathe and supported people who genuinely wanted to stop smoking. His gifts through sponsorship of events and programs live on in the lives of these Thunder Bay citizens. Fraser was a generous man who never wanted public recognition for his many many gifts to this community but here, we can acknowledge him and say "Thank you Fraser," we will miss this good and generous man. Kathryn Forbes, Ret'd Executive Director, The Lung Association, Thunder Bay.
