Lawrence Patrick Kelly, age 80, of Beverly Hills, FL passed away May 1, 2018 at the Citrus Hospice House in Lecanto, FL. Lawrence was born on May 31, 1937 in Bridgeport, CT to John Patrick and Gertrude (Smith) Kelly. Lawrence moved to Citrus County in 1989 from Seymour, CT. He was a retired Supply Support Manager for Sikorsky Aircraft. During his tenure with Sikorsky Aircraft, Lawrence was able to live in Thailand, Scotland and the Philippines as well as travel to several other countries. Lawrence also worked for Guenster Rehabilitation Center as a Counselor and Director between stints at Sikorsky.
After a successful career he retired young, fell in love and was able to travel the world. He had a quick wit, a keen mind and an amazing capacity for love. He loved his God, Family and Country, he was always faithful, a friend of Bill, generous and never stopped learning. He enjoyed golf, boating, traveling, professional and college football and following the news. Lawrence served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of the Power Squadron in Crystal River, Seven Rivers Golf Club and St. Scholastica Catholic Church.
Survived by his wife, Doris T. Muro Kelly; one son, son Dan Kelly; three step children, Darren (Cathy) Muro, Justin (Melissa) Muro and Nicole (D'Angelo) Samuels; two Sisters, Virginia (Mario) Benigno and Anna Auger; one brother, John (Fran) Kelly; four grandchildren, Haile, Devon, Grace and Jack.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, FL. Mass will be offered on May 23, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto, FL. Burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. A celebration of his life will be held at "Tuscany On The Meadows", 350 E Norvell Bryant Blvd., Hernando, FL, at 3:30 p.m. following the services at the cemetery.
