We regretfully announce the passing of Shirley Patricia Pittman of Crystal River, FL on April 8, 2021. Minister Pittman was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.
Minister Pittman, was a loving and dedicated mother to a family of seven children, was brought into this world on January 31, 1948 to Leroy and Adelle Pittman in Nashville, Georgia. After graduating from Withlacoochee Vocational Technical Institute in 1985 as a licensed cosmetologist, Minister Pittman dedicated her life to the pursuit of knowledge in the field of nursing and cosmetology. She ended her 20 year career in nursing. After retiring, Minister poured herself into her church Independent House of God where she was a licensed minister of the Gospel and a dedicated Sunday school teacher. Minister Shirley Pittman was an extraordinary woman of God that transformed everyone that came to know her. Her legacy will be forever written on our hearts. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.
Minister Pittman was predeceased by her father and mother, Leroy and Adelle Pittman and her brother Tommy Lee Pittman, her sons John Lee Hollis Jr, and Shon H. Hollis. She is survived by her Five children, Debra D. Hollis McCray (Jimmy McCray), James B. Hollis (Mary), Bishop elect AL L. Hopkins (Debra A. Hopkins), Artha L. Hopkins (Roxy Hopkins), Ephesus Hopkins (Camille Hopkins), and her brother Leroy Pittman Jr; her sisters Margret Evans, Jessie Williams, Bertha Harvey, and Ada Mae Pittman; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Flowers may be received at The J.T. Campbell Funeral and Cremation Services Macedonia Chapel on Friday April 16, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Funeral Cortege will form at The Family Home in Crystal River on Saturday April 17th at 10:15 am.
Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday April 17th at 11 a.m. at The Independent House of God Church Of The Living God Crystal River Fl 557 North East Second Avenue Crystal River Fl.
