Zona Teresa Bahler, 59, of Inverness, passed away at home under the care of HPH Hospice on April 23, 2014, with family and friends close by.
Zona was an amazing and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She always knew how to light up a room with her smile. She loved to be surrounded by positive people, had the gift of gab and always knew how to make people laugh. Zona enjoyed creating art in all forms, including clay, ceramic, drawing and painting. But by far, her favorite activity was having gatherings for family and friends, where a great time was had by all. Zona was a stay-at-home wife and mother until she re-entered the workforce by working as an administrative assistant for Robert Worman, Esq., deputy clerk for the Citrus County Clerk of Court, administrative secretary for Keith Schenck and as a clerk at the Department of Children and Families.
Zona is survived by Bill Bahler of Inverness, loyal husband and soulmate of 37 years; two daughters, Sonya Levert and husband Tim of Largo and Shea Joray; two granddaughters, Teaghan and McKenna of Inverness; best friend and sister by heart, Sharon Kaskie and son Brandon Kaskie, both of Inverness; mother Thelma Louise Thompson of Oviedo; father Graham Phillips of Altamonte Springs; brothers Tony Phillips of Chiefland, Tim Thompson of Chuluota and Sammy Thompson; and sisters Sabrina Lewandowski of Orlando and Sharon Thompson of Destin. She was also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
A celebration of Zona's life will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration via www.theaftd.org or at 267-514-7221. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
