My mom was a great mother. She had a lot of good advice and if she didn't have advice, she sent a book in the mail to help offer additional advice. Mom and I have wonderful memories of bargain shopping! We have laughed and laughed over our "finds." We both loved to scrapbook and put together crafts! I know mom is in heaven and we will see her again. My only regret is that God took her too soon. We had so many more memories to make with my two year old daughter. She will be greatly missed every day of our life! I am thankful that God blessed me with such a great mother. Meeting all her many, many friends and finding out what a blessing and Christian example she was, makes me want to continue to follow in the footsteps that she left behind.

Myrna was courageous, generous, and kind. The past year I had nothing but admiration for her and Dale and all they had to endure. When we emailed back and forth, she always took time to ask about what was going on in my life even though she was suffering in hers. We swapped the occasional bead pattern. Her jewelry projects were wonderful due to her patience and skill. She had a strong faith in God and put her trust in Him. She was so kind to everyone and never had a bad word to say about anybody. I will miss her and I send my condolences to her family.

Miss Douglas was my beloved first grade teacher. I have thought of her often in my 49 years. As I read the many loving comments I see she was beloved by all who knew her. Miss Douglas and all her family will be in my prayers.

Myrna has always amazed me as to how she could be involved in so many activities and still make time each day to spend with her parents. She loved sharing pictures of the grandchildren. What a proud grandmother. Her enthusiasm for all she did and her sweet smile will be deeply missed. My heart goes out to Dale and family.

Every time I turned around, there was a new talent revealed but the most memorable, a salad luncheon where she made a "little girl" for each guest: shredded carrots for hair, black olives for shoes, a heap of lettuce with tuna salad underneath for the body, slice of cranberry sauce for the face. Her mother had made a similar salad for her at one time -- and she took pictures to her mother to see if she would remember. Her beautiful Christian soul touched so many lives in Citrus County. I was honored to be one of her "Strawhat" friends.

I am saddened to find out that my most loved 1st grade teacher has gone home. Even at 49 yrs. old, my memories of "Miss Douglas" are clear as a bell!!! She included our entire class as guests to her wedding!! And the fact that she married my best friend's uncle only made my ties to my favorite teacher longer lasting!!! She was an extraordinary, kind, loving, and ever gentle lady and I see by the other entries here, she carried those traits throughout her life.

My deepest sympathy and prayers to out to her family and friends.

Myrna, I treasure the fun times we enjoyed together; shopping to find those special gifts for your grandchildren, and picking blueberries just to name a few.You touched my life and my heart. I will miss you.

Myrna was always an inspiration to me. In her very explicit writings she was loving, informative and to the point. I was in awe of how she cared for her parents/family, participated in church/yoga/kayaking/club events and always had time for friends. I will always remember her wonderful warm ways.

Myrna was a Christian, 24/7, A thru Z.
Her family reflects who she was and her friends were made better people by knowing her and remembering her trust in Jesus.

You are with your Lord, now, brightening a place not known to us with your smile and optomistic outlook. You are missed. I will never see a movie without thinking about you nor taste a strawberry which couldn't be washed so you couldn't have them. Good by.
