Lloyd Elden SPAW(1934 - 2013)


Lloyd E. Spaw, most recently of The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida, previously of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2013 due to complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis. He is survived by Sherry, his loving wife of 23 years, his two daughters: Betty Renee Walker and Deborah Boehringer, 4 stepdaughters: Kathy Franklin, Jan Miracle, Lisa Fugate, Jettie Mescher and their husbands, and 1 stepson: Michael Davis. He is also survived by his siblings: Dormas Spaw, Pauline Hatter and Mildred Rader and predeceased by his brother Roger Spaw. Lloyd was a wonderful Christian mentor to his 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Lloyd Spaw was born on May 3, 1934 to the late Ocal and Herman Spaw of Mintonville, KY. As a child, Lloyd attended Nancy High School, Somerset County, KY, where he played basketball which led to a lifelong love of the University of Kentucky Wildcats'. Lloyd retired as Manager of Quality Control, General Motors in Norwood, Ohio in 1986. While living in Cincinnati, Lloyd was an active member of the Deer Park Baptist Church, serving for years as an Elder. Lloyd and Sherry moved to Florida in 1998 where they were long standing members of the First Baptist Church of the Villages and actively worked to raise funds for its recent expansion. He was a wonderful and devoted family man, whose quiet but steady demeanor was greatly appreciated by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service has been scheduled for January 11, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of the Villages, Lady Lake, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The First Baptist Church of the Villages, 16985 SE 79th Clearview Avenue, Lady Lake, Florida, 32162.
