Donald Oliver Walter, 75, of Ft. Mitchell passed away Wednesday, February 19th, 2014, at Bethesda North Hospital. He was an Insurance Underwriter for Great American Insurance Company. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Helen Walter; and his brother, Charles "Buck" Walter III. He leaves behind his daughters, Vickie Woody of Cincinnati, Christina Burkhardt of Cincinnati, Ann Tiemeyer of Cincinnati, Megan Conly of Burlington, KY, and Kate Hilton of Cincinnati. He also leaves behind his 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY 30 Commonwealth Ave. Erlanger, KY 41018. I worked with Don for 10 years as he was a client. There was never a conversation where I didn't get off the phone with a big smile on my face and telling my co-workers something that Don said. Our prayers are with you. Thanks Don - for everything.

I worked with Don the last 12 yrs he was here at GAIC. He made me laugh every day! I was happy we were able to keep in touch after he retired. He was a good friend, I'm going to miss him bunches!

Don was my supervisor at Maryland Casualty and then, my co-worker in the Reinsurance Dept at Great American. I remember this blue jacket. I remember this mustache. (I remember the curly perm he tried, also!) Don's dry wit always made me laugh. I will always think of him and smile.
