Donald "Big Don" Guilfoyle

- - "Big Don" Donald Guilfoyle went to drink his five o'clock martini with the Big Guy upstairs after an incredible 92 years. He was married to Mary Underhill Guilfoyle for 72 of them, allegedly because he drove the nicest car of all her suitors. Their love spanned longer than a lifetime, and continues to remind us of the existence of soulmates. Don was father to many and a father-figure to many, many more. With a door that was always open, his soft-spoken wit and wisdom touched the lives of all that were blessed to be a part of his. A World War II Air Force veteran, he leaves behind a small army of his own, including Mary and their nine children: Donald, Jr., Diane, Gregory, Deborah, Timothy, Michael, Jeffrey, William and Suzanne. With 28 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, the global community will undoubtedly continue to endure his wise-cracking, sometimes rowdy legacy for the foreseeable future. With or without his military decorations, he was, and will always be, our hero. A life-long parishioner of St. Francis DeSales parish in East Walnut Hills, his final service there will be held on Saturday, March 3 at 1pm.
