Eleanor Bender
Cincinnati - Eleanor Ann Bender, 94, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Hospice of Cincinnati. Born on September 30, 1924, she was the daughter of Edward J. "Boots" Bender and Neva Bender (nee Ostick). Preceded in death by her sister, Mary Schille. Survived by her loving brother, Edward F. (Marlene) Bender; nieces, Terri Roa, Judy Barnett, Joan Schille, Donna Dillon, Karen Dale and nephew, Edward D. Bender. Loving cousin to Rosemary Stansel and the late Lorena Ziegler. Also survived by her longtime friend, Betty Mulligan. Eleanor loved traveling, notably to Hawaii and Australia, and spending time with close friends and family. She went to work at an early age at the S.S. Kresge "five and dime" store then had a long career as an Office Assistant at Gibson Greeting Card Company. She was a longtime member of St. Ann Church in Covington. Visitation is on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9:00 AM until the hour of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM all in St. Ann Church, 1274 Parkway Ave, Covington, KY 41011. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Ann Church. Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home is serving the family.
