Dr. Roles was my very kind pediatrician when I was a small girl (50 years ago!). I have lived all over the place and moved back to Cincinnati in April of this year. I drove by his clinic on Colerain and looked him up and was saddened to learn that he has just passed away! How sad! Anyway, I was always scared to go (because of the shots) but remember his gentle, reassuring manner and realize I was very blessed to have such a great doctor!! So sorry I missed him and know he is eith the Lord now and I hope to see him in heaven some day!!

Kind regards and condolences,

Dr. Rolfes was one of the nicest people that you could ever meet. I originally met him over in Colerain Township where he treated my two sons, Brendan and Jimmy as a pediatrician. He was patient, kind and an excellent doctor. Many years later I discovered that I was living on the same street as was he and his sweet wife, Elaine. My son Brendan visited me there in the Reserve of Turpin, and the two of us had a great visit with "Ernie." God bless him, and his wonderful family.

Dear Rolfes Cousins, Bill and I want to express our sympathy for the passing of your Dad. We didn't know Ernie very well since he was a bit older than us but we know he was a really good guy. I remember calling him a few times when I had my first baby even though he wasn't my pediatrician and he was a great help. Any way we are sorry about his passing and send our love to you all. As a medical student on pediatrics, I admired and respected Dr. Rolfes - so much so that later I picked him as our childrens doctor. He is fondly remembered and respected by my family. David Kirlin M. D.

Our dad was a college friend of my parents and then the pediatrician for me and my 8 siblings. When it was my time to be a mother there was noone I would have trusted my children to than your dad. He was always able to gently educate me, calm my fears and make me feel like I was a competent parent. I owe a lot of my parenting style to him. I will be forever grateful for his place in my life.

Sending all of you my thoughts and prayers during this time of loss. I so enjoyed hanging out at the Rolfes home, back in the 70s. Your father and mother were always so welcoming and fun to be around. The memories of your lives and times together with them, will hopefully give you peace and comfort.
Miss seeing all of you, and sending my love,

The Ballaban family is so sad to hear of Dr. Rolfess passing. Dr. Rolfes was a superb physician highly respected by many in Cincinnati. He was a kind, compassionate and loving man. May God comfort his family through this very difficult loss.
