James C. WOOTTON

WOOTTON James C. died peacefully on May 15, 2008 in Austin, Texas. Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, James graduated from the University of Wisconsin earning BS, MS and PhD degrees in chemistry. During World War II he served as a chemist in the Army's Special Engineering Detachment for the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. After earning his PhD degree in 1948 he was employed by Procter & Gamble where he worked as an organic research chemist for 37 years. He is survived by his wife, Muriel, of 63 years. Also surviving are three sons: Barry in Kentfield, CA, Robert (Catherine) in Austin, TX, and Richard (Patricia) in San Rafael, CA. Eight grandchildren also survive; Jeffrey, Jonathan, Christina, Landon, Marshall, Daniel, David and Thomas Wootton. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
