Western Hills - Gerald Weeden "Jerry" Wood, MSgt, USAF, Retired, beloved husband of Florence Ellen Thompson Wood, devoted father of Deborah Ann (Gerald) Pecora of Floral Park, NY, David Charles (Ann) Wood of Stow, OH and Donna Jean (Tom Middaugh) Myers of Wilsonville, OR, proud grandfather of Lyndsay Fay (Michael) Burns of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Wednesday Gwendolyn (Brent Myers) Wood of Akron, OH and Jillian Ann Wood of Akron, OH and great grandfather of Kalleigh, Bryleigh and Jayleigh Burns of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, brother of Robert Lee Wood of Northfield, OH, son of the late Daniel and Edith Rubright Wood. Born in Akron, Ohio, Jerry graduated from Copley High School. He proudly served for 21 years in the USAF. He began his career at Yale University studying Chinese for his assignment in Korea. Then he was attached to and jumped with the Army 82nd Airborne, as a forward air controller. Upon retirement, he earned a degree in accounting from the University of Akron, then worked in the General Accounting Office for 23 years. He enjoyed the many and varied projects he experienced during his career with the GAO. After a short illness, Jerry passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at age 84. We will always remember Jerry’s wit, his funny sayings and his nice smile. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend. We shall miss him very much.

May you be strengthened by Gods promise found at John 6:40, where he gives the hope of seeing Christine again. While you await the fulfillment of Gods promise, may you find a measure of comfort in your cherished memories. My heartfelt condolences to your family for your loss.
