Judith Ann (Greely) BEITING Obituary


Judith Ann, (nee Greely) of Farmington, passed from this life on Saturday July 6, 2013. She was a kind loving person and will be greatly missed by all whose lives were touched by her. Judy was born May 6, 1940 in Detroit to Merrill and Mary (Switalski) Greely. She attended Issac Newton Elementary School in Detroit and was an active member of their Alumni Group. She graduated from Mercy High School, Detroit in 1958, attended the University of Detroit 1959-1960 where she met her husband, Bob Beiting, who was from Cincinnati, Ohio. After their children were grown, Judy returned to school attending Madonna University, graduating in 1984 with a degree in Gerontology. She and Bob were married October 5, 1963 and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this fall. Judy spent many years helping seniors in the Farmington area. She and Bob enjoyed researching both their family lines and were members of the Ford Genealogy Club. She is survived by her husband, Bob, of Farmington; two sons, Christopher (Sarah) Beiting of South Bend, IN., Dennis of Raleigh, N.C. and one daughter, Meridith (David) Paluck of Novi, MI.; four grandchildren, (children of Christopher and Sarah) Magdalen "Maggie", Elizabeth "Lillie", Anton and Kateri Beiting. She is also survived by brothers, Michael (Susan) Greely of Dayton, Ohio, and Gary (Sharon) Greely of Ann Arbor, MI. Judy's family will receive guests at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home 23720 Farmington Road (Btw. 9-10 Mile Roads) downtown Farmington on Wednesday, July 10, from 4:00 until 8:00 pm and Thursday, July 11, from 2:00 until 8:00 pm with an evening rosary. A Funeral Mass for Judy will be celebrated on Friday, July 12, 11:00 am (in state 10:30 am) at St. Gerald Catholic Church, 21300 Farmington Rd., (Btw. 8-9 Mile Rds.)Farmington. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery , Southfield, MI. For those wishing to make a contribution in Judy's name, please consider the Nigerian Mission that was so very important to Judy.
