Naples, FL - Ruth Eleanor Stiens passed away, Feb 21, 2018 in her residence in Naples Fl, at the age of 100.

Born December 31,1917 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Joseph G. Peters and Emma Peters.

She attended the University of Cincinnati, joining Thata Phi Alpha.

In Feb, 1941, she married Robert F. Stiens. After her husband's service in the US Army during WWII, they lived in Cincinnati, moving to Louisville in 1961.

Ruth was an avid golfer at Audubon Country Club and a parishioner at Holy Spirit Church. She also was an excellent artist, a member of the Kentucky Watercolor Society.

They became permanent residents in Naples, Florida in 1983, became a founding member of Royal Palm Country Club, and served actively as an usher at St. Peter the Apostle Church.

Ruth loved to play golf, was a long-time bridge player, and traveled all over the world.

Ruth is survived by her son Robert L. Stiens (Ginny) Tucson, AZ, son Gary Stiens (Kathy) Springboro, OH, and a daughter Nancy Zanone, (Russ) Charleston, SC, 5 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sister Virginia Kronner, grandson Brian Zanone, and infant brother Roy A. Peters.

Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Church on Saturday, March 3rd at 11 a.m., 3345 Lexington, Rd, Louisville, burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Rd. Louisville. A brief visitation March 3rd from 9:30 a.m.to 10:30 a.m., at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Ln.
