SHEFFIELD NOVIK
NEW YORK CITY - Sheffield Novik, 92, passed away in NYC on September 7 surrounded by family and loved ones.
Beloved husband of 66 years to Claire, cherished father to Ellen and husband Louie: Larry and wife Linda; and his "baby" Lisa. Loving grandfather to Evan, Royce and husband Sean, Emily and Jessica.
Sheff Novik was the owner of Sayles Biltmore Bleacheries from the early 70's thru the 90's and was adored by many. He was known for his generosity, humor and patience.
He grew up in Bayonne, NJ, the youngest of 6. Growing up without much, he learned work ethics at a very young age having three jobs at the age of 13. He worked until the age of 90, always providing for his family.
He was a veteran of World War 2 and served his country very proudly. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Sheff was a wonderful and generous man. He had a fabulous sense of humor and contibuted a great deal to the community in Asheville. He will be missed, looking forward to seeing him again on the other side!

Sheff was a kind and funny person who I had the privilege of having in my life since I was 15 years old. I have great memories of trips to Ashville with him and Lisa. I'll miss him calling me kid and making me smile. He will forever be in my heart.
