Harley "H.C." Bryson
Sylva - Harley C. Bryson "H.C.", 78, of Sylva died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Skyland Care Center in Sylva, NC. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, H.C. was born June 15, 1934. He is the son of the late Arthur and the late Beulah (Stewman) Bryson.
He was employed at Ensley's and Pott's Supermarkets, and later was self-employed. He loved traveling, Gospel music and good food. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Conner, and by three brothers: Tince, C.A., and Jim "Babe" Bryson.
He is survived by sons, Rick Bryson (Kyra) of Sylva, Randy Bryson (Raylene) of Waynesville, and Robby Bryson of Asheville; a daughter, Lisa B. Hoyle (Mike) of Sylva, and Wayne Smith of Sylva, who he thought of as family, two sisters he adored, Violet Bowers of Sylva, and Dottie Bryson of Newport News, VA; five grandchildren, Kristen, Jennifer, Myranda, Logan, and Chessa; and six great grandchildren.
The Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 pm at East Sylva Baptist Church. Revs. Charles Dean, Roger Stewman, and Reed Benson will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva. Burial will be in Fairview Gardens, Sylva.
