Kolen Flack Obituary
Union Mills - Kolen Flack, age 92, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
Kolen was born in Rutherford County, NC to the late John and Malinda Flack. He is also preceded in death by his wife Mildred Bell Flack, five brothers, and four sisters. Kolen proudly served our country during WWII in the US Navy. He later retired from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Kolen was a member of Western Star #91, AF&AM, a 70-gallon blood donor, and a lifelong member of Round Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving Kolen are his sons: John Jodie of Union Mills, NC and Randy Lee of Asheville, NC; sisters: Martha Lovelace and Thalia Shook, both of Union Mills, NC; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Kolen is also survived by Betty Morgan Bailey. Her love and companionship kept him young, strong, and happy.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, October 5, 2018 at Round Hill Baptist Church, 6585 Hudlow Rd, Union Mills, NC. Memorials can be made to Round Hill Baptist Church C/O Peggy St. Clair, 142 Ferguson Ridge Rd, Union Mills, NC 28167.
