Robert Walther Obituary

Robert (Bob) Alan Walther

Alexander - Robert (Bob) Alan Walther, of Alexander, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on January 25, 2021, enveloped in the love and light of so many, with his family by his side.

Bob graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School and attended Baldwin Wallace College, where he met Eleanor Thorn Walther, his wife of 53 years. Bob went on to establish Alloy Molded Products in Cleveland, Ohio, but his true passion was photography. He later applied his skills professionally and was a proud member of American Society of Photographers. He loved and supported the arts.

Bob was a member of Bay Presbyterian Church, Bay Village, Ohio, where he participated in the Promise Choir and served as a Deacon. When he and Eleanor moved to Asheville, he became active at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Known for his warm sense of humor, Bob had a strong sense of loyalty to friends and was a kind and loving partner to Eleanor, as well as a dedicated father to their daughters, Meredith Carlone (Michael Carlone) and Julie Walther. He adored his grandchildren, Samantha Huston, Taylor Huston, and Milo Carlone. Bob also enjoyed the family's many pets over the years.

Due to COVID, the family will not hold a funeral at this time but rather a Celebration of Life at a future date. The family appreciates any gifts or expressions of condolence be directed toward Four Seasons Hospice (www.fourseasonsfdn.org) or Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church USA of Asheville (https://gcpcusa.org/ways-to-give).
