For many years, Ed was a manager at Florida Power and Light. He retired in 1989. Ed spent his retirement doing the things he loved, traveling with his wife and family, playing golf, tinkering with his Ham radio, spending summers in the mountains of North Carolina and enjoying his children and grandchildren.

Ed leaves behind his sister Olga Floyd and brother Will Carson, and his sons and their spouses; Ed and Kelly, Worth and Sandy, and daughter-in-law Melissa. Ed is also survived by eight grandchildren, whom he dearly loved, Jed, Zach (Jayeon), Shelby (Stephen), Rachel (Joseph), Andrew (Cassidy), Nathan, Ben and Jack; and three great grandchildren, Benjamin and Mollie McDaniels, and Liam Carson. Ed was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
