Asheville - Margaret Marie Shook passed away at Memorial Mission hospital Saturday, July 7, 2018 at age the 87. Margaret was born in Birmingham, Michigan to Dwight Clare & Naomi Joyce (née Clark) Baldwin.

After graduating from Wayne State University she worked as a medical technician at Eloise Medical Center where she met the love of her life, Earl Shook. At Crowfields, their home for many years, she was influential in improving the Community Gardens & being watchdog over the rapid development of Hendersonville Road.

In addition to her civic activities, Margaret managed a successful career in marketing and advertising that grew out her passion for photography, penchant for writing and interest in technology. Adding to her commercial pursuits, she built a photographic archive chronicling the lives and folklore surrounding noted Southern Highland craftsmen.
