William Mull Obituary

William Bryson Mull, Jr.

Asheville - It all started at 105 Fairfax Avenue and will end at 171 Fairfax Avenue. Asheville was always a place that he loved and called home.

William Bryson Mull, Jr., 85, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014. He was born July 8, 1925 to the late William Bryson Mull, Sr. and Floy Bell Baldwin Mull. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack B. Mull. He joined the US Navy in 1946 and saw the North and South Poles. William was stationed in the South Pole for a year, and for his service they named "Mount Mull" in Antarctica for him - and he sure liked to brag about that. While serving his Country, he went to Vietnam twice, also serving in WW II and Korea. After retiring from the Navy in 1970 he opened the Orange Bowl at the Asheville Mall.

Mr. Mull, Jr. is survived by his sister, Mary Benson; niece, Misty Mull and friend, James Chapman.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 27th in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.

Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn is assisting the family. Please visit www.moorefh.net to sign the online guest book.

I'm very sorry to hear my cousin, Bill, has passed on, but I'm very proud of the life he lived. He was a good son to his mother, and I'm extremely grateful for his military service to our country.
