Thomas Case

Arden - John Thomas Case, 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in the same family home he was born in on November 12, 1929. He was the son of the late Roy and Katherine Redmon Case.

Tom was a potter his entire life with Pisgah Forest Pottery. He also worked with Ecusta Paper and the Olin Corp. He was one of the founding organizers of the Skyland Fire Department and was a former member of the Avery's Creek Lions Club. He was a member of the Skyland United Methodist Church, the West Asheville Masonic Lodge and the Southern Highland Craft Guild.

Tom is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bryson Case; sister, Rosa Lee Case Baldwin; niece, Jan Baldwin Webster; nephew, Tony Baldwin; five great nieces and nephews and five great great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at New Salem Cemetery conducted by Chaplain Wilson Bishop and the West Asheville Masonic Lodge. Skyland Fire Department will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 am Friday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
