Dotson
Fairview - Stanley Dale Dotson, 65, of Fairview, peacefully entered Heaven's gates on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 with his loving family by his side.
A lifelong resident of Fairview, Stan was born April 7, 1949 to the late Mayme and Don Dotson.
He was a longtime employee of Crown Cork & Seal as well as Tyco of Black Mountain. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Fairview and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was always eager to lend a helping hand and insisted on taking care of others before himself. You rarely found him without his sidekicks Dixie and Rosco.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 46 years, Betty Elingburg Dotson; his daughter, Pam Dotson; his son Eric Dotson and his wife, Brandy; his pride and joy and 'pretty girl', granddaughter, Mackenzie Dotson; his four legged children, Dixie and Rosco; three sisters, Kay Houck and her husband H.D., Wanda Galante and her husband, Bob, and Linda Dotson; two brothers, Donnie Dotson and his wife Joyce and Joe Dotson and his wife, Pat; as well as numerous special nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2015 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverends Scott Dotson, Sr. and H.D. Houck officiating. Internment will follow at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, 212 Bethany Church Rd, Fairview. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the funeral home.
The family would like to send a special thank you the Neurotrauma ICU nurses at Memorial Mission Hospital, especially Wendy Gibson-Butler and Sue Hjelsand, and the nurses at the Davita Dialysis Center and the Outpatient Wound Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 212 Bethany Church Rd, Fairview, NC 28730.

And the tears run down your face,
Let us keep our eyes on Jesus
And the goodness of His grace.
You may have lost the one you love
And I know it causes pain,
But if you were in Heaven now,
God is calling him by name.
He says He's glad to see him-
That it's been a long, long time.
Then He wraps His loving arms around him
And tells him all is fine.
God shows him all His mansions
With rolling hills and plains
And reminds him up in Heaven,
He won't suffer any pain.

Dear Dotson Family, So sorry to read about the passing of Stanley. Never been a Dotson that went to Reynolds that I did not enjoy knowing, just good folks.
