Those of us that got to experience the outdoors with him were blessed. His passion for fishing and the outdoors was unlimited. Each time I am in the woods or on the water somewhere I think of him. Looking forward to our next fishing trip in the hear after. I know he will have it all figured out when I get there. We miss you friend.

Terra,

Words cannot express what you are feeling or dealing with right now. I am so terribly sorry for your loss. One thing sticks out and remains strong and steadfast and that is your faith. Hold on to that. Hold on to God. He will see you and the boys through this. You may never know all the answers from the events of that day, but we know how much he loved you and the boys. He passed away proving that and left his legacy for his family. One day, you will see Shane again as well as our Almighty Father and what a day that will be! It does not ease the pain of the present. It does not bring him back, but the love he had for you, Zane, and William will live on forever. Thank you for the impact you have had in Kennedy's life. We love you and will continue praying for peace and strength for you and the boys in the days to come.

I'm at a loss for words. One is never prepared for things like this.
I'm so grateful that I got to know you and have you as my neighbour for the last 14 years. You and Terra made my transition into this country and small town so much easier than it could have been. You have so many friends who truly looked up to you, genuinely thought so highly of you, they have come out in full force. It's been so lovely reading their memories and what they thought of you. A truly funny, loveable, interesting and genuine guy. You will be sorely missed Shane. RIP my friend. Xx

His generosity, kindness and love of all things in the outdoors was special. His touch on my family will never be forgotten. May the good Lord bring comfort during this time.

Words seem so inadequate at such a tragic time. Please know that Shane was well liked and respected by all who worked with him. His knowledge on so many topics and his positive attitude spoke volumes of the good man he was. He touched many lives in positive ways. May God guide you through this most difficult time and may you feel the love and prayers coming from so many who care about you. God be with you till you meet again.

Terra, Zane, William and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers always. Shane was one of the greatest people I ever had the honor and privilege of meeting. He had an affect on all those he met and knew, more than he realized. There was never a day that I saw him that he was not smiling and talking about family. May you find peace and comfort. Shane will watch over you while shining in the light of truth and God.

Shane, your passing is one of the saddest moments in my time on this world. It is still hard to grasp. You were one of the greatest people I have had the honor and privilege of meeting and spending time with on my journey on this world. The last 16 years you have been like a brother. There was never a time that I seen you that you were not smiling and enjoying life. You were an inspiration and guiding light to myself and others. You are a better person than I.

You spoke of the times you and Terra have had in years past traveling the country in your younger days. You always talked highly and with great respect of Terra. You and Terra some of the happiest people on Earth when time came to Zane and William. They are the shining light in their parents' eyes. We all knew they would be taught all that their knew and would most likely follow in their father's footsteps. Two kids on this world could not have asked for a better mother and father to raise them. They will miss you dearly for all time. Terra, Zane, and William are your enduring memory in your time in this life.

When I first ventured into surveying you were already there working away enjoying the work outdoors. When on project in mountains you would get the job complete and then have time to go fishing afterwards. I remember the time we were in Jackson and Macon counties working what a time it was and lives on as if yesterday in my mind. We got rooms for the week at the Motel 6 in Dillsboro right on the river were most evenings you would fish. You are one of the reasons I continued to enjoy surveying and the adventures it brought. I was looking forward in the near future to get back to working in the mountains and meet up far more often for fishing, lunch, or to talk.

We spent time over the years talking about our families and their history to find that we were related by the Silvers on Curtis Creek. We discussed and traded photos on occasions of people and places. Me, you, and Jason never got the chance to hike up to Moses Curtis's grave on the mountain up Curtis Creek that journey will be made soon honor and memory to you and Jason. We talked over the history of Old Fort and the founding families of which we both belong. We had some great discussions about local and family history over the years as well as other things. I will miss those times.

Shane my brother, bask in the light of God and know that you will meet all again.

What a precious and humble man Shane was. He may have been quiet but his actions shouted to the world of his love of the Lord, his family and life. The sweetest smile he had. The world is a much better place for having had Shane in it for the past 41 years. The fact that he has two sons that are just like him lets us know we are still in his presence. Terra, you and the boys were so blessed that God chose Shane as your mate and the father of your children. May God's grace comfort and keep you in the days and weeks to come as you begin a new journey. We love you all and are here for you.

Shane, I absolutely cannot believe I am writing this. Over the many years I came to know you, you became a 'little' (age-wise) and 'big' (height-wise) 'brother' to me and you will always be my brother. Renée and l send our love to you, Terra, Zane and William forever and always. Shane you'll be missed terribly and more than you'll ever know. The best man, husband, father and friend I've ever known. Peace be with you my brother until I see you again. God's blessings upon Terra, Zane and William during this incredibly difficult time. You have all became part of our extended family over the years and our hearts have been broken as we know yours have. Please, please let us know if there is anything we can do for you, anything at all. All of our love and sympathy, with hearthfelt condolences,
John and Renée Jarvis.
