Donald R. McVey, 87, of Berwick, formerly of Shickshinny Lake, passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 23, 2021, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with his loving wife, Gloria, and one of his daughters, Colleen, by his side. He was born in East Orange, N.J., the son of the late Christian and Fay Beauchamp McVey. Don served proudly in the United States Navy, serving on an aircraft carrier in the Korean War. He worked at Picatinny Arsenal and Instrument specialties as a Master Tool and Die Maker. He was an avid fisherman, ice fisherman and bowler. He was Gloria's heart and soul, being there for her and his family. He will most be remembered for his ability to make you laugh and his extremely hard work ethic. If he was not working on a project, he was figuring out his next one. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gloria; children, Robbi, Colleen, Jean, David, Dale and Judie; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce. Don will also be missed by the neighborhood children, Aiden, Landan, Max and "friend." Due to the pandemic, a celebration of Don's life will be announced at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Charles L. Cease Funeral Home, 634 Reyburn Road, Shickshinny.
