George J. "Chervy" Chervenitski Obituary

George J. "Chervy" Chervenitski, 95, of Plymouth, passed away Sept. 19, 2020, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 15, 1925, in Plymouth, he was the son of the late John and Sophia Vrabel Chervenitski and was the last surviving of 10 children.

Preceding him in death were brothers, John, Joseph, Francis and Stephen; and sisters, Helen Close, Elizabeth Belcher, Leona Honko, Agnes Grosshans and Anna Egenski.

George was a member of St. Stephen's Church, Plymouth, and St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre, where he was an usher for many years. As the oldest member of the Elm Hill Hose Co. 3, he had served as a past president, truck driver and chaplain for over 60 years.

George was the owner and operator of Chervy's Fuel and Heating for 75 years. He was married to the late Henrietta Paveletz Chervenitski for 63 years until her passing in 2011.

Surviving are his loving children; son, George Jr.; daughters, Honey Landi, Nancy Chervenitski, Diane Huber and Georgette Holena; grandchildren, Victoria, Kayla, Veronica, Kylie, Matthew, Hannah and Hali. George is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday in All Saints Parish, Plymouth.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at S. J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth.
