Mary Nowalis

Mary Nowalis, 90, formerly of Lyndwood, Hanover Township, passed away Monday.

Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late William and Nellie Zubris Kazlauskas.

Mrs. Nowalis was a life member of St. Casimir's Church, Lyndwood, Hanover Township, and had been active with the annual parish bazaar, as well as other parish functions.

Prior to retirement, she was employed by Plymouth Dress as a seamstress. Throughout her life, she was well known for designing and sewing many beautiful creations for friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore M.; brothers, Vincent, Theodore, the Rev. Clement, C.S.C., the Rev. Bernard and Jerome Kazlauskas and Daniel (Gabe) Kosloski; sisters, Leona Krefski and Nellie Krystofolsky.

Surviving are her loving children, Anita Bavitz and her husband, Paul, Chevy Chase, Md.; attorney Robert C. and his wife, Brenda, Kingston; and David M. and his wife, Marya, Phoenixville; grandchildren, Christopher, Ian and Graham Bavitz and Sarah Nowalis; sisters, Irene and Eleanor Kazlauskas, Plymouth; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 from S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Casimir's Church, Lyndwood, Hanover Township. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Muhlenburg. Friends may call Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, or Erwine Home Health and Hospice, 270 Pierce St., Kingston.
