Joseph F. Lambert Obituary

Joseph F. Lambert, 87, formerly of Stock Avenue, Swoyersville, a five-year resident of the former Little Flower Manor, now Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing Center, Wilkes-Barre, passed into eternal life Wednesday evening, August 5, 2020, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

His beloved wife was the late Helen M. Lygan Lambert, who passed away April 18, 2011. Together, Joe and Helen shared 49 beautiful years of marriage.

Born Feb. 12, 1933, in Pringle, Joseph was one of two sons born to the late Felix and Anna Gavlick Lambrick. Raised in Pringle, Joe was a graduate of the former Pringle High School, Class of 1950, and was also a graduate of the former Wilkes-Barre Business College.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Joe honorably served his country for four years during the Korean War as a hospital corpsman (emergency medical technician).

Prior to his retirement, Joe was employed by the former Faith Shoe Company in Wilkes-Barre.

A man of great faith, Joe was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Twp.

Joe enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially helping his wife tend to their annual garden, and spending time with his family. Joe and Helen treasured time together each year vacationing at beautiful Lake George, N.Y.

He never passed up the chance to engage in a lighthearted conversation about sports, or reflect on a truly entertaining memory of childhood days. Although his presence will be deeply missed, there is much joy in knowing he is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife and all his family and friends who have gone before him.

In addition to his parents, Felix and Anna Lambrick, and his wife, Helen, Joe was preceded in death by his only brother, Jerome L. "Jerry" Lambert, on July 26, 2019.

Joe is survived by his sister-in-law, Theresa M. Lambert, Mountain Top; his nephews, Brian Lambert; Barry Lambert and his wife, Christina; and Bruce Lambert and his wife, Tia; his niece, Cynthia Lambert Kwan and her husband, Wayne; his great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; as well as his wife's nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Twp., with the Rev. John C. Lambert, his pastor, officiating.

Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Plains Twp., where military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Navy.

Family and Friends are invited to attend Joe's viewing which will be held on from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In keeping with federal, state, and diocesan guidelines, those attending the viewing and funeral service are required to wear a facial covering and observe social distancing. These guidelines will be strictly enforced.
