Anna Kaczmarczyk Obituary

After 96 glorious years, our loving mom, Anna, our "Nana," made her loving journey to heaven on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020.

The angels came and peacefully took our mom to heaven to be with her Lord. Waiting at heaven's gates for her were her two special angels, her two beloved sons, Alexander Jr. and his baby brother, Ronald.

Mom, you were the greatest mother and grandmother that anyone could ever ask for. Mom, you were the "rock" of our family, who held everyone together in troubled times. Your motherly instincts were the greatest gifts from God. As we got older, we soon realized what a strong and caring person you were. Devoting yourself entirely to our family with your many talents for cooking and baking, which was the centerpiece of our family gatherings for many years.

The stories you told; the traditions you handed down; the lessons you taught; making dill pickles; making homemade Easter eggs; never without pencil in hand doing your crossword puzzles; rolling the dough for homemade pierogis; watching the Pennsylvania Polka with the TV on full blast; enjoying scratching off lottery tickets; planting from seeds and sitting on your front porch watching your beautiful flowers grow, which were admired by everyone; named the "Bingo Queen Lady" at Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where mom was a guest; her ritual of getting on the town bus each and every Thursday of her life for her hair appointment up town, just some of the treasured memories in her legacy she leaves behind. But the most important of all was seeing and hearing from her beloved family whom she adored. Mom, we are so grateful we had you in our lives, mom, we are going to miss you deeply, we all loved you immensely. Mom, you're free now from all the pain and suffering.

Mom, I know you will always be watching over us, being our angel on our shoulder.

Anna was a member of Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church in the Hanover section of Nanticoke.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Sr.; and her beloved son-in-law, Bobby Gribble.

Surviving are children, Daniel Kaczmarczyk Sr. (Mae), Upper-Askam; Pat Mikolajek, Upper-Askam; and Nancy (Michael) Zawodniak, Upper-Askam; sons, Alexander Jr.; and Ronald, deceased. Mom was the most incredible "Nana" to seven grandchildren, Tracey Gribble (Maura), Jason Gribble (Jennifer), Kelly Sparrow, Rachel Mikolajek, Dan Kaczmarczyk Jr. (June), Tammy Gates (Keith) and April Galle (Anthony); eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Keith, Danny, Alex, Lexi, Savannah, Brady and Kayden; one great-great-grandson, Victor Bonilla.

Anna was born July 19, 1924, to the late John and Pearl Halchak, Upper-Askam, Hanover Twp. Coming from a family of nine children, she is survived by brother, Russell Halchak; and sister, Helen Cwalina.
