Clyde L. Boyer Obituary

Clyde L. Boyer, 87, of Dallas, went home to be with his Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020, at ManorCare Health Services, Kingston.

He was born in Shickshinny on Dec. 28, 1932, and was the son of the late John and Violet Shoemaker Boyer.

Clyde graduated from Shickshinny High School, Class of 1951, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the Dallas School District and was a member of Grace Community Church. Clyde was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Gale Whispell; grandson, Jeremy Whispell; brothers, Carl, Warren and Johnny Boyer; sisters, Evelyn Gensel, Lily Mae Boyer and Mary Law.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Elizabeth "Betty" Andrews; sons, Rick and his wife, Debbie, Benton; and Gary, Dallas; brothers, Larry Boyer, Rochester, N.Y.; and Stephen Boyer, Shickshinny; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., state Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. Roland Preisler, pastor of Grace Community Church, officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Huntsville Cemetery, Jackson Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace Community Church, 4122 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA 18612.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at ManorCare for their exceptional and compassionate care given to Clyde and family over the past three and a half years.
