Richard A. Fox Obituary

Richard A. Fox, 81, formerly of Plymouth, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, Sept. 12, 2020, at Guardian Elder Care, Nanticoke.

Born in Bear Creek, he was the son of the late William and Alma Barney Fox and attended James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.

He worked as a tire service man for many years and a backyard mechanic where his young sons watched and learned.

He was a longtime member of Messiah Primitive Methodist Church, Bear Creek.

An avid sportsman, he enjoyed his Friday evening bowling leagues at the former Stanton Lanes and LS Bowl-a-Rama Nanticoke, watching Richard Petty drive in circles in NASCAR and a big fan a of the N.Y. Giants.

His greatest joys where taking his dogs for walks, riding his bike and spending his time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Fox; and sisters, Florence Mylott; Margaret Burnett; and Diane Fox.

He will be sadly missed by his loving children, Richard Fox Jr.; Kristina Fox; Michael Fox and wife, Rebecca; James Fox and wife, Amy; and Stephen Fox and girlfriend, Colleen; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon DeGiusto; brother, David Fox; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton, with the Rev. Hadley R. Hayes, pastor, officiating.
