Christina G. "Tina" Caprio Obituary

Christina G. "Tina" Caprio, 92, a lifelong Dunmore resident, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, in Residential Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre.

She was the wife of Eugene G. Caprio, who died May 8, 1984.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Demko and the late Grace Rinaldi Demko Gross. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and Lackawanna Business College. Prior to retirement, she was employed as the office-business manager by Lackawanna Medical Group, Scranton, thereafter by her brother's private practice.

Tina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and aunt who will be dearly missed. She was a member of Ss. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore, its choir, Altar and Rosary Society and its former bowling league. She was also a former member of the Dunmore Community Chorus.

Her family would like to thank her caregivers, Colette Lee and Peggy James, as well as the staff of Residential Hospice for all their dedicated and loving care. And a special thank you from Tina's children, Eugene and Rose and all the grandchildren and extended family to her daughter, Grace, for all the loving and devoted care she gave to their mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Demko.

Surviving is a son, Eugene N. Caprio and wife, Barbara, Pittston; her daughters, Grace Zaremski and husband, Joseph Roche, Kingston, with whom Tina recently resided; and Rose Caprio and wife, Dr. Sherry S. Strain, Dunmore; grandchildren, Sherry Krumich and significant other, Mike; Christine Krumich and fiancé, Dr. James Bosscher; Kenton Krumich and wife, Gina; the Rev. William A. Mentz and fiancé, Shawn Golden; Eugene A. Mentz and wife, Tabitha; Gianna Caprio; and Christopher Caprio and significant other, Danielle Nissen; great-grandchildren, Grace Weed and fiancé, Tony Talerico; Kenton Jr., Mason, London, Kingston and Dillon Krumich; a brother, Dr. Joseph N. Demko and wife, Marian, Scranton; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony's Church, Smith Street, Dunmore.

Interment to follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

All those attending the mass are asked to observe social distancing and please wear a mask when entering the church and during the service.

A life celebration will be held at a later date.
