Emily G. (Killian) Culver Obituary

Devoted wife, mother and super worker for the Lord, Emily G. Killian Culver, 77, of Shickshinny, went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Shickshinny on March 8, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Grace E. Ridall Killian. She graduated from Northwest Area High School, Class of 1961. She then studied to be an LPN at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Even though her career was short, she became the neighborhood nurse.

In 1962, she married Paul D. Culver and together they raised seven children. They set an example for generations to follow. Her passing ends a marital span of 58 years.

She devoted her life to taking care of her children, grandchildren and being "Aunt Em." She served her Lord in every way possible at Bible Baptist Church, Shickshinny, where she was a life member. When at home, she could be found tending to her flower gardens and cooking for her family.

In addition to her husband, Paul, she will be greatly missed by her children, Colleen Lanning and husband, Edward, Shickshinny; Todd Culver and wife, Michele, Berwick; Bret Culver and wife, Kristin, Shickshinny; Penny Hill and husband, Leonard, Shickshinny; Travis Culver and wife, Kristina, Berwick; Heather Seigfried and husband, Brian, Shickshinny; Corin Ulichney and husband, John, Shickshinny; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a brother, Thomas Killian and wife, Judy, Buckhorn; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Leroy, Rodger; and Charles "Ed" Killian; a granddaughter, Shelbey Culver; and in-laws, Glenn and Anna Culver.

A public viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Monday in Bible Baptist Church, Shickshinny. Due to COVID-19 concerns, all other services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Bible Baptist Church, 43 Furnace St., Shickshinny, PA 18655.
