Gloria A. Chesniak, 84, of Dupont, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 15, 2021, in Regional Hospital of Scranton after a brief illness. She was the widow of Frank "Pinky" Chesniak, who passed away April 26, 2004. She was born in Dupont, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Posluszny Harashinski and was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She worked for many years in the local garment industry. Surviving are sons George, Albuquerque, N.M.; Frank and wife Tami, Duryea; daughter, Cindy Chesniak, Dupont, and companion Kris Schwartz; grandchildren, Matthew, Tiffany, Brittany and Cassondra; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Kylie and Sophia. She was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley and Joseph Harashinski; and sisters, Carol Webb, Genevieve Pituch and {span}Dolores Lazowski .{/span} The family would like to thank Dr. James Sheerer and staff for their kind and compassionate care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, to be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas J. Petro, pastor. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Lokuta-Zawacki Funeral Home, 200 Wyoming Ave., Dupont, is in charge of arrangements.
