Dorothy Ferrell Obituary

DENISON- Dorothy Maurine Ferrell, 96, Denison, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, at Village Villa in Nortonville. Mrs. Ferrell was a bookkeeper for the Holton Livestock Exchange and Wally's Garage in Valley Falls. She was a member of the Denison Bible Church, the Women's Missionary Society of the church, Denison Senior Citizens and Jackson County Historical Society. She was born Aug. 10, 1909, at Valley Falls, the daughter of Earl and Maude McCracken Jackson. She graduated from Rock Creek High School in 1928. She married William Edgar Ferrell on Feb. 20, 1929. He died on May 9, 1974. She was also preceded in death by two sons Donald L. Ferrell in 1996, and Richard Dean Ferrell in infancy; and a daughter, Barbara Jean Ferrell, also in infancy. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Edwards, Valley Falls; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 pm, Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Denison Bible Church or to the Aviary Fund for Village Villa and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
