Larry Carpenter Larry L. Carpenter, 83, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

Larry was born February 14, 1934, in Bigelow, Kansas, the son of Hugh and Verla Walls Carpenter. He attended school in Marshall County in a class with 17 students from grade school through high school. Larry served our country in the Army. Following his honorable discharge, Larry went to work for the Burroughs Corporation until he retired with 37 years service.

On August 17, 1957, Larry and Mary Brown were united in marriage, enjoying over 54 years together before her death February 1, 2012.

Larry was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. He loved to fish, play bridge and tinker in the garage.

Grateful to have shared his life are his sons, Randy Carpenter (Nancy Carpenter) and Rick Carpenter (Rich Hendry); his twin sister, Joan Brannagan; cousins, nieces and nephews and dear friends who became part of his family. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Boroff.

A parish rosary will be prayed at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, followed by visitation until 4 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
