Vincent R. Meier Obituary
Vincent R. Meier Vincent R. Meier, 73, Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at his home in Cape Coral, Florida. Vince was born January 1, 1946, in Topeka, the son of Casper and Catherine Gartner Meier. He married Lana Pearson on July 6, 1968, in Topeka.

Vince was always known as a hard worker. He and his father and brothers started Meier's Rapid Dump Trucking and later went on to co-found Meier's Ready Mix and the sand operation from which he retired. Growing up he attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served with the Kansas National Guard and was stationed in Korea. Vince loved life and God. He enjoyed his family, friends, cooking, dancing, golfing, boating, gardening and fishing.

Vince is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lana; son Chris Meier of Topeka, daughter Cameron Preheim (Lynn) of Cedar Point, daughter Colby Meier of Topeka; four grandchildren, Kennedy Meier, Mason Meier , Cole Gooden, Lake Peet and five step grandchildren; siblings, Kay Baker, Gene Meier (Deloris), Ruth Gillgannonn (Jerry), Betty Kanicki, George Meier (Sharon), Joan Howell (Byron). He was preceded in death by his sister, Delores Christenson, Jack Meier (Darlene); brothers-in-law, Melvin Christenson, Dave Baker and Eddie Kanicki.

All services will be held at Mother Teresa Catholic Church, 2014 NW 46th Street, Topeka, Kansas 66618. Thursday, January 24, Rosary 5:30 p.m., visitation 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass Friday, January 25 at 11 a.m., followed by lunch and a celebration of life until 4:00 p.m. Private burial on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Mother Teresa Catholic Church, 2014 NW 46th Street, Topeka, KS 66618, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 227 SW Van Buren Street, Topeka, KS 66603 or Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway E, Cape Coral, FL 33909.
