It is because of Mrs. Buckley and other Librarians in the Henry T. Sampson Library at Jackson State University that I pursued a career in Library and Information Science. Mrs Buckley taught me in the undergrad Library Science Program at JSU. I worked in the library as a student assistant and was awarded a Ford Foundation Fellowship to graduate school at Atlanta University. Our paths also crossed as SORORS in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. I will never forget her. With Deepest Sympathy

My sincerest sympathies are extended to the Buckley family. I know that your loss is great.
Barbara, your mom, as you know, was a favorite role model for all of us growing up. Her mere everyday demeanor was truly remarkable. Your dad chose a wonderful woman and they together produced the Buckley family that remains.
You have my love as well.

The Dr. Joseph (Audrey) Travillion family respectfully mourn and grieve the death of Dr. Buckley . God bless the Buckley family and those who love & respected her. I(Greg) personally benefited, as well as scores of others, from her love & expertise in the field of literature. Her teaching and devotion to students was greatly appreciated. Matthew 5:4 tells us "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted". Please be comforted in our time of need.

My sympathy to the Buckley family. I was blessed to have known her as a family friend early in my life. "Cozetta" as she was called by her friend and my aunt Kathryn Thames allowed me into her home to play as child whenever I visited my aunt. Forever the consummate professional I later witnessed at Brinkley and JSU. She will remain in my heart a kind and gracious lady.

I was saddened to learn that Mrs. Cozetta Buckley's long and courageous battle with cancer has ended. She was a kind and loving person who was truly gracious and made life so much more pleasant for everyone around her. I remember so well the sound of her laughter. She will be missed by all. May she rest in Peace.

Dr. Buckley was one of the first professors who inspired me to pursue the field of librarianship. She was dedicated to the profession and to the fundamentals of the teaching and learning process. I have fond memories of her dropping me and my son off at my house after class so that we would not have to walk. She never asked for any money or anything in return. Her kindness was very much appreciated, she will be missed.
