Mary Maxine Brown
Summit
Mary Maxine Brown of Summit, MS, passed away February 9 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson MS. Maxine was born September 29, 1919 in Durant, MS, the daughter of James Benjamin and Mary May Carroll.
She was a graduate of Durant High School, Durant, MS; Holmes Jr. College, Goodman, MS and Memphis State College, Memphis, TN. Mrs. Brown taught school for more than forty years at Summit High School and McComb High School. She was a member of Summit United Methodist Church in Summit, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Hilton Brown; brothers Richard "Boo" Carroll and Robert Carroll; sisters Margaret Carroll Ray and Millie Carroll Browning Kahler. Maxine is survived by sisters, Louise Carroll Botkin of Naples, FL and Mamie Carroll Stafford of Athens, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 13, at 1:00pm until 3:00pm, with the service immediately following, at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home, 1801 Delaware Avenue, McComb. Burial will be in the Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Summit.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Please consider the encouraging scripture at Isaiah 35:8 where it tells of a time when death will be no more and this pain we feel now will be a thing of the past.
