Mr. Elba Earl Britton, age 92, died at the Sonny Montgomery Veterans Hospital in Jackson, MS on October 5, 2012. Visitation is Monday from 1-2 pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home with a chapel service at 2 pm. Interment will be in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Britton was a native of Browning, Missouri and was the son of the late Carlos Minor Britton and the late Bertha Blanch Martin Britton. Mr. Britton served his country during WWII with the 407th Combat Engineer Battalion of the United States Army. After the war, he continued to serve his country by working for various contractors for the United States government, which included Westinghouse Steam Turbines (1953-1959), Atlas Missiles (1959-1960), Vandenberg AFB (California 1961-1963), General Dynamics (Fort Woth, TX and Virginia 1963-1970) and Bechtel (Mechanical/Nuclear Engineer 1979-1983). He also was an Instructor at Utica Junior College (1970-1979).

Mr. Britton was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Arzelda McDaneld Britton and their three infant children; Joel Earl Britton, Winnie Earline Britton and JerriMark Britton.

Survivors include his children; Virginia Therese Britton, Jewel Pauline Britton and Nathan Carlos Britton; grandchildren, Von Edwards and Ken Allen; great grandchildren, Angel Brookleigh Edwards, Von Ray "Buddy" Edwards, Summer Skye Allen, Connor James "Jack" Allen and Britton Von Allen; sister, Reva Fannie Crawford and husband Richard and brother, Keith Lane Britton and his wife Irma.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or Bible Believers, 9835 Hwy 49, Yazoo City, MS 39194.
