Leslie W. Vance, Jr.


Leslie Wallace Vance Jr., 43, formerly of Madison and Hernando passed on October 4, 2012, at the Baptist Desoto Hospital from complications with his battle with cancer. The funeral services were held on October 6, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, officiated by Brother Richard Wiman, in his hometown of Belzoni, MS.

Leslie lived his life as an Eagle Scout and retired as an Air Traffic Controller at Memphis Center. He worked for Saks, Inc., where he was the lead security engineer in Jackson, MS. He worked for Global Inc. as a Network Engineer. He also was the founder and owner of Positive Control Networks, Vance Wireless and ran the Belzonicable Internet Service.

He is survived by his wife, Allison Barrett Vance, his son, Hayden Wallace Vance, his mother, Genelle Lott Vance, his sisters, Gelinda V. Wade and Dana V. Hill, and four nieces and nephews, Amber and Dillian Foster, Kimberly Carole and Darryl Barrett.
