Eloise "Weezie" Meeks Czajkowski

- - Eloise "Weezie" Meeks Czajkowski, 98, passed away on July 10, 2018, at the home of her daughter, Eloise "Deedee" Sheely, in Madison, MS. Mrs. Czajkowski was born on February 17, 1920, in Carroll County, MS, one of eight children of Frank and Mae Meeks. She and Allen C. Czajkowski married on June 1, 1943, and lived in Greenwood, MS, for the first 52 years of their married life.

While in Greenwood, she worked for the Greenwood Police Department for 20 years, initially as Patrolman and later as Sergeant. Later, she was elected as Leflore County's Constable, serving for 2 years. During her years in Greenwood, she was a member of many clubs, including the Does and BPW, receiving recognition for her achievements and elected as an officer in several of the clubs. She was a long-term member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwood. She loved entertaining her family and cooking for them.

She and her husband were married 66 years, moving to Jackson, MS, in 1995, to live near her daughter's family. Following his death in 2009, she moved into her daughter's home for the last 7 years of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and six brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Deedee Sheely (Robert), grandson, Dr. R. Allen Sheely (Rebecca), great-grandsons, Robert C. Sheely and Tye Gardner, a niece, three nephews, and a first cousin.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Internment follows the service at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood. Pallbearers are members of the Greenwood Police Department, recognizing her many years of service on the force. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Sheely, Allen Sheely, Bob Williams, Don Morefield, Ian La Cour, and Luke Woodard. The family extends thanks to her faithful caregivers, Leslie Jones and Maxine George, who provided loving care and support during the final months of her life.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital, 2500 N. State Street, Jackson, MS 39216, and Webster Animal Shelter, 525 Post Oak Rd., Madison, MS 39110.
