Kathryn Hearst Broom

Benton - Kathryn Hearst Broom passed away Monday, February 15, 2021. She was 88, a native of Benton, and a member of Black Jack Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Eva Hearst, her brothers Elkin and Randolph Hearst, her sisters Doris Hearst Teaster and Evelyn Hearst Robinson, and a son David Broom,Sr.

Mrs. Broom leaves behind her husband of 69 years, Willard Broom, a son Greg(Kathy) of Yazoo City, and two daughters Lisa Broom Ables of Yazoo City and Kay Broom Ray(Brad) of Madison, and a daughter-in-law Mazelle Broom of Starkville. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

Graveside services will be held for friends and family on Saturday, February 20th at 3:00 at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery in Vaughan, Ms. under the direction of Stricklin King Funeral Home. Dr. David White will be officiating her funeral.

Pallbearers will be David Broom,Jr. ,Preston Ray, Tommy Lewis, Jon David Russell, Billy Robinson, and Matt Edgar. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Ables, Randy Robinson, and Randy Hearst.
