Obituary Condolences

Tommy Lane Swilley, Sr., 73 died Saturday, May 12, 2007 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bernard Nail officiating.
Mr. Swilley was a native and lifelong resident of Rankin County and was a Mason, Shriner, Korean War Army Veteran, and a member of Brandon Baptist Church. He was a retired service man with Entergy and had perfect attendance at work for his 47 years of service. Mr. Swilley had also owned a Tree Trimming Service in Jackson for many years and was an electrician.
Mr. Swilley enjoyed all sports and had been and athletic official for the South Eastern Conference for over 20. He also enjoyed coaching women's softball, bowling and flagging for Nascar in Mississippi at the Jackson International Speedway. Mr. Swilley was a very loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Swilley of Brandon; daughters, Rhonda Swilley McClenahan of Colorado and Julie Swilley Patterson of Brandon; son, Tommy Swilley, Jr. and wife Jody of Pearl; grandchildren, Emily and Matthew McClenahan of Colorado and Michael Patterson of Brandon; brothers, Cecil Swilley and Billy Foxx Swilley of Brandon and Bobby Joe Swilley of North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Brandon Baptist Church Mission Fund.
