Bruce Walker passed away suddenly at his home in Idaho Springs on Jan. 12, 2019. He was born June 2, 1954, in Columbia, Mo., to Bruce and Maryann Walker. He graduated from Alameda High School in Lakewood and attended the University of Colorado.
Bruce worked construction, but his real passion was martial arts. He ran a successful family self-defense studio in Connecticut for 25 years. He also spent seven wonderful years living on the Pacific coast of Mexico, where he had a fitness class for seniors.
Upon his return to Colorado, he worked at the Project Support Senior Center in Idaho Springs, driving locals to appointments and running a fitness class.
He had some health struggles but kept an upbeat and compassionate attitude.
He is survived by his brother, Lou.
A celebration of life event will be at the Idaho Springs Senior Center on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m.
