DAVID SANDBERG Obituary

passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 88 years old. He is survived by his wife, Connie and his 3 daughters with their spouses: Diane and Peter Hare of Middlebury, VT, Susan and Tom Rahauser of Mercersburg, PA. and Sara and Justin Snyder of Hudson, Ohio. He also has 9 grandchildren: Eric, Tim and Laura Rahauser, Jennifer, Alexandra and James Hare and Emma, Charlie, and Jack Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberta (nee Peterson) and C. Wallace Sandberg. Dave was a graduate of Jamestown High School and Baldwin Wallace College and had a degree from John Carroll as an Associate in Professional Management. He retired from Republic Steel and LTV Steel in 1987 and became an independent representative for a reprographics company for 13 years. He lived in Euclid, Hudson and Aurora, Ohio and served as president of the American Society for Training and Development in Cleveland and Committee Chairman of the Karl Peterson Foundation of Jamestown, NY. Dave was an avid tennis player and played well into his 80's They always thanked each other after playing because "without an opponent there would be no game." He was a hopeful Cleveland Browns fan since the Paul Brown days. Golf was also on the list of interests in spite of the scores. He enjoyed reading, especially westerns. He loved walking and playing with a number of golden retrievers he owned over the years. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man. A celebration of Dave's life will be held at a later date.
