HERMAN LUBERTAZZA Obituary
91, Was reunited with his departed family on January 9, 2020. Herm was the 10th child born to Rose and Carmen Lubertazza in Newark, NJ on 11-17-1928. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sylvia; his oldest daughter Laura Parham; and his nine siblings George, Anthony, Anna, Nora, Jean, Ray, Joseph, Terry, and Rose. Herm is survived by his daughter Jane Kolenda (Dave); son Carney Lubertazza (Cheryl); grandchildren, Megan (Joe), Jason (Glen), Nathan, Aaron, Brandon, Dan, and Justin; great-grandchildren Lauriana and her unborn baby brother; sister-in-law Jean Meserini (Frank); and many special nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Army for two years as a surveyor and was deployed to Korea shortly after his honeymoon. He was a letter carrier for the USPS for nearly 30 years. A life-long passion was watching and playing golf and baseball. Herm was a star pitcher in varsity baseball in Belleville, NJ, and later played some softball and a great deal of golf on various leagues. He loved to sing and listen to music. He enjoyed watching musicals, comedies, variety shows, and old movies. He also loved taking long walks, attending car shows, and appreciated authentic Italian food. He and Sylvia enjoyed traveling in their RV's all over the country and in celebration of their 25th anniversary, they traveled to several European countries. He loved to laugh and create improvised, comical, home movies and skits with family members. Friends and family may call on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 4-8 PM at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio 44212. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 9:30 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick, Ohio with one hour of visitation prior to mass at the church.
