Mr. John Davies of Medina, OH beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed into eternal peace Sunday, August 11, 2019. Jack was the son of the late William and Maude (Dixon) Davies. He was a 1948 graduate of Tunkhannock High School, he served in the Air Force from 1948 - 1951. He met the love of his life, Lorraine Davies (Polunas) on a blind date and married her on August 4, 1956. He worked at NASA from 1957 to 1990 where he helped develop the ion propulsion engine used by NASA spacecraft. He enjoyed working at Buehler's in Medina after retirement until 2011. He loved gardening, woodworking, & shared the fruits of his garden to all. He enjoyed traveling & camping with family & friends when he was younger, and he was an active member of First Baptist Church of Medina. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine; sister, Mary Thomas (Delaware); sons, John (Bonnie) Davies, Miamisburg, OH, Greg (Marilyn) Davies, Euclid, OH, and Bill Davies, Medina, OH; grandchildren, Amanda & Gillian Davies; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Edward, & Dave; sisters, Betty Martin, Gwen Dale, Ruth Kaczinski, and Honor Brader. His smile will be missed by all. For now, he is at rest, and in the arms of God. Visitation is Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 2-4pm followed by a funeral service at 4pm. A private interment will be held by the family at OWRNC. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory can be made to Hospice of Medina County. Family condolences may be left at: waitefuneralhome.com
